The article rereads the 1923 Munich hereditary-studies meeting, Boveri’s lineage, Hadorn’s transplants, and Spemann’s ‘fantastical’ nucleus-into-enucleated-egg thought experiment.

Sapp’s isolation picture is too sharp. Baltzer and Hadorn’s merogony fed later nuclear-transfer and cloning (Gurdon). Spemann stayed holistic versus Weismannism even while backing that experimental line.
