Structured fields used in claim comparison tables when every cited study has a complete layer.

What they did

New informal dementia carers joining Talking Point completed PHQ-9, GAD-7, and SQCRC at baseline and 12 weeks, with self-reported forum use. Sixty-one provided 12-week outcomes; qualitative interviews explored user experience.

What they found

SQCRC relationship-quality scores changed over 12 weeks, but PHQ-9 and GAD-7 did not. Usage was often low (17/58 never visited). Among users, more time on the forum correlated with greater PHQ reduction. Most individuals showed no reliable symptom change.

The limits

What it doesn't show

No control group and low engagement limit inference that forums treat carer anxiety/depression. Completer analyses and self-selected new users may not represent all carers.
