What they did

Instructors posted short TikTok videos at least four times weekly as complementary microlearning for nursing and related modules. Two hundred thirteen students voluntarily completed questionnaires on the microlearning environment and Technology Acceptance Model constructs.

What they found

Students reported positive engagement and motivation ratings, and TAM acceptance scores were high across perceived usefulness, ease of use, and behavioral intention. Sex differences were largely non-significant, while module differences appeared in some evaluations.

The limits

What it doesn't show

Positive questionnaire ratings are not objective learning-gain measures from a randomised controlled trial. Voluntary respondents in health-science modules may over-represent students already comfortable with social media.

Key terms

Microlearning
Teaching through short, focused learning bursts rather than long continuous lessons.
Technology Acceptance Model (TAM)
A framework linking perceived usefulness and ease of use to intention to use a technology.
Perceived usefulness (PU)
Belief that using a technology will improve performance or learning.
Perceived ease of use (PEOU)
Belief that using a technology will require little effort.
Behavioral intention (BI)
Willingness or plan to continue using the technology.
